Our Mystical Cave

15 meters deep in the heart of Gaziantep, a silent witness to history

Aynur Hanım Mansion Mystical Cave

The Story of Our Cave

Water Cistern Era

Our cave was once used as a water cistern. In Gaziantep, almost every stone mansion has such a cave beneath it. These caves served as natural refrigerators during hot summer months, preserving food and beverages.

War-time Shelter

During wartime, these caves became safe havens where people could take refuge. Thanks to their thick stone walls and underground location, families could shelter here safely.

Restoration for Tourism

This unique cave, which remained closed for many years, was restored for Gaziantep tourism in 2014 through the great efforts and dedication of Aynur Hanım and her children. During the restoration process, its historical texture was preserved while making it safe for visitors to explore.

Throughout this process, the cave's original architecture and historical character were meticulously preserved while bringing it up to modern safety standards.

Today's Event Venue

Currently, our cave hosts various events. With its unique acoustics and mystical atmosphere, it serves as a venue for parties, special events, cultural performances, and meetings. This historic space, 15 meters deep, enchants visitors with its captivating atmosphere.
